Reliable Protection against Damage from the Passage of Current
Bearings coated with Insutect A have a high level of electrical insulation protection thanks to their aluminum oxide coating on the inner or outer ring. The purpose of the ceramic layer is to reduce or even eliminate the passage of current through the bearing. The current-insulated rolling bearings have dimensions equivalent to those specified by DIN 616 (ISO 15) and are therefore interchangeable with standard bearings. While deep groove ball bearings and cylindrical roller bearings with aluminum oxide coating are most frequently used, other designs are also available on request.
Product Properties of Insutect A Bearings
Bearings with an aluminum oxide coating provide a high level of insulation protection and are identified by the J20 suffix and an additional letter combination: GA, GB, or GI. This coating is applied to the bearing surfaces using the plasma spray method. The aluminum oxide layer is not only particularly wear-resistant but also serves as a good heat conductor.
The J20GA standard coating already covers a wide range of industrial applications. For more stringent demands or higher electrical currents, such as those found in the rail sector, our J20GB premium coating thickness offers the additional protection and performance you need. Bearings in the J20G series with a coated inner ring (J20GI) offer the highest level of impedance and therefore the best possible protection against electrical currents.
